Self Financial, Inc. Consent to the use of Electronic Documents and Signatures

Last Updated: March 17, 2020

As part of your relationship with us, we are required by law to give you certain information “in writing.” We may also need to obtain your signature to perform certain functions. If you prefer, you can choose to both receive information and to provide necessary signatures related to your relationship with us electronically, instead. In order to do this, we first need your consent to use electronic records and signatures.

This Consent to the use of Electronic Documents and Signatures (the “Agreement”) describes how Self Financial, Inc. and its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Self”) and any of Self’s third party issuing banks (each, an “Issuing Bank”) (together with Self, “we,” or “us”) communicate and contract electronically with you, the person registering for or using the Services (as that term is defined in the Self Financial, Inc. Terms and Conditions) (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”). Please review this Agreement carefully and completely as it applies to all initial and future communications, disclosures, notices, agreements, and updates thereto (collectively, “Communications”) related to the Services, including without limitation in connection with any Self account or membership, credit builder loan and associated account, or secured credit card and associated account.

To create an account with Self through Self.inc, you must (1) be able to access our website by using a personal computer or other device which is capable of accessing the Internet, (2) have an active email account through which you can receive emails from us, and (3) consent to our use of our website, emails, or other means of electronic disclosure agreed to by Self to provide you any written information that we may be required to send you in connection with your account, or an application for a loan, credit card, or other financial services product from Self or an Issuing Bank. By checking the box certifying your agreement to these terms and by clicking “Join Self”:

  • You acknowledge that you can access and read information we post on our website,
  • You agree to provide an email address that is active and effective for receiving emails from us,
  • You consent to receive electronically the Communications, including any notices and disclosures required by law related to your account, an application for a loan, credit card, or other product or Service Self or an Issuing Bank may offer, provide to you, or that you apply for, own, use, administer or access, either now or in the future.
  • You acknowledge receiving this document and will save a copy for your records.

Your consent to receive electronic Communications is required to join Self and receive Services from Self and its Issuing Banks. If you are unwilling to receive these Communications electronically, you may cancel this transaction at no cost by closing your browser at any time before you click “Join Self.”

Scope of Communications to Be Provided in Electronic Form

Your consent to receive electronic Communications includes, but is not limited to, all legal and regulatory notices and disclosures, agreements and communications associated with a Service we may make accessible or available, or offer to you, whether through a website, software application, email, messaging services (including text messages), or otherwise.

Method of Providing Communications to You in Electronic Form

All Communications provided to you in electronic form may be provided either (1) via email, (2) by making it available online and accessible via your account “dashboard,” or (3) by requesting you download a PDF file containing the Communication, or (4) other means we make available to you.

We may always, in our sole discretion, provide you with any Communication in writing or send it to you via the U.S. mail or other means of delivery, even if you have chosen to receive it electronically. We may require any information you provide to us, or any document you sign, to be delivered to us in writing. You should print or download a copy of any Electronic Records for your own records, including this Agreement.

How to Withdraw Consent and/or Receive Paper Disclosures

You may at any time withdraw your consent to receive Communications in electronic form or request a paper copy of a Communication. Please be aware, however, that withdrawal of consent may result in the termination of your use of or access to certain Services. To withdraw your consent, please contact us at the following address: Self Financial, Inc., 901 E 6th Street, Suite 400, Austin, TX 78702. Be sure to clearly state which Communications you wish to receive in paper form, indicate whether you are withdrawing consent or merely requesting a paper copy of any past Communications, and include your name and mailing address. Your request will apply only to those specific Communications you designate. We will not impose any fee to process the withdrawal of your consent to receive electronic Communications or to receive communications in paper form. Any withdrawal of your consent to receive electronic Communications will be effective only after we have a reasonable period of time to process your withdrawal.
